New York—The Yankees' bats stayed quiet as they got shut out for the third game in a row in a 4-0 loss to the Angels. Will Warren got the start for the Yankees, and Kyle Hendricks took the ball for the Angels.

Warren worked an easy 1-2-3 top of the first inning and picked up his first two strikeouts of the ballgame.

In the bottom of the first inning, Cody Bellinger lined a two-out double to the left-center gap, but Giancarlo Stanton grounded out to extend the Yankees' scoreless streak to 21 innings.

Warren surrendered a two-out double, the next batter, Luis Rengifo, snuck a RBI single just past DJ LeMahieu to give the Angels a 1-0 lead, a play that DJ easily could have made.

A two-run single from Taylor Ward made it a 3-0 Angels lead in the top of the third inning.

The Yankees' newest leadoff hitter, Jasson Dominguez, dunked in a one-out bloop single in the bottom of the third, then stole second base. However, he was stranded as the Yankees have not scored a run in 23 innings now.

Warren had a nice bounce-back top of the fourth inning as he retired the Angels in order and picked up his eighth strikeout of the game.

Stanton grounded a single right back up the middle to lead off the bottom of the fourth inning. But that would be all for the Yankees, now, 24 innings without a run.

The Yankees went down in order in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it 25 innings in a row without a run.

Warren picked up two more strikeouts in the top of the sixth inning to set a new career high with 11 punchouts on the night.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Stanton picked up a single to right field, his second hit of the night and fourth hit since coming off the IL. But that would be all for the Yankees, as it has now been 26 innings without a run.

Ian Hamilton took over for Warren in the top of the seventh inning and instantly worked himself into a baseloaded jam, then gave up a RBI groundout to Nolan Schanuel to make it a 4-0 game.

Will Warren's final line: six innings pitched, six hits allowed, three earned runs, 14 swings and misses, and 11 strikeouts on 93 pitches. Warren threw his fastball 48% of the time, the sinker 24%, the sweeper 22%, the curveball 4%, and the changeup 2% of the time. Warren was excellent tonight, recording a career-high 11 strikeouts, but unfortunately, the offense couldn't provide him with any run support.

"Yeah, I think it's in a good spot," Warren said on his fastballs. "Both of them really. And I think that's where the success is coming from. I'm kind of mixing them to both sides of the plate and trying to keep the hitters guessing."

Hamilton remained in the game for the top of the eighth inning and retired the Angels in order.

Scot Effross took over for Hailton in the top of the ninth inning, making his season debut, and worked a scoreless inning.

The Yankees went down without much of a fight in the bottom of the ninth inning to end this one 4-0, as they have not scored a run in 29 innings, and they have been shut out three games in a row.

"I think it's a little bit more highlighted because it's consecutive games,” Austin Wells said. “I think it's just baseball."

Cody Bellinger added about the Yankees' offensive struggles.

"As an offense, it's definitely frustrating,” Belli said. “The only thing you can do now is wake up tomorrow and continue to play your best baseball. I trust the guys in this locker room."

The Yankees will look to turn it around tomorrow, with Ryan Yarbrough on the mound, facing off against Jack Kochanowicz. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET on the YES Network.

My thoughts on the game: The Yankees look lost right now at the plate, as the June Yankees are officially back. I’m not sure what it is about the Yankees in June the last couple of years, but they always seem to fall apart, as they have now lost five games in a row and haven't scored a run in 29 innings and just look unwatchable. Just another brutal performance slumps are going to happen in a 162-game season, but this has been hard to watch. Something has to change fast. The few positives from tonight were that Warren looked great with a career-high 11 strikeouts. Stanton also has two more hits tonight as he is 4 for 8 since coming back from the IL. The Yankees need to turn it around tomorrow because the Rays are quickly sneaking up on the Yanks in the division, just 2.5 games back.
